Beschreibung

Isoleucine is an amino acid that is used in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease. It has been shown to inhibit the production of amines, which are associated with bowel diseases. Isoleucine also blocks the conversion of ornithine to aldehyde groups, which are potential carcinogenic agents. The model protein used in this study showed inhibition of chloride ion transport and fatty acid uptake. Isoleucine has been shown to have receptor activity on cells grown in culture, inhibiting the binding of hydrochloric acid and cb2 receptor agonists. This amino acid also inhibits the production of prostaglandins by blocking cyclooxygenase activity, which may help relieve diabetic neuropathy.
