Beschreibung

Isonicotinic acid (2-hydroxy-benzylidene)-hydrazide is a derivative of nicotinic acid that is used as the hydrochloride salt in clinical use. It is an analog of nicotinamide and nicotinic acid, which are vitamin B3 derivatives. Isonicotinic acid (2-hydroxy-benzylidene)-hydrazide has been shown to be effective for the treatment of bowel disease and tuberculosis, although it does not have any effect on inflammatory bowel disease. Isonicotinic acid (2-hydroxy-benzylidene)-hydrazide is a water-soluble compound with a basic structure that can form hydrogen bonds with polar compounds such as amino acids or proteins. This drug also has high solubility data in both organic solvents and water, making it easy to analyze using analytical methods such as chromatography or nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy.
