Indium trifluoromethanesulfonate is a reactive, c1-c4 haloalkyl. It has been used as a reagent for the synthesis of serine protease inhibitors. Indium trifluoromethanesulfonate reacts with unsaturated ketones to form x-ray absorption products, which can be analyzed by x-ray diffraction and x-ray fluorescence techniques.
