It has been synthesized by the stepwise condensation of anthracene with monochloride. 3-Iodo-9H-carbazole is a monomer that contains nitrogen atoms, and its chemical structure includes functional groups such as hydroxyl, carboxylic acid, ester, amine, thiol, and ether. The transport properties of 3-Iodo-9H-carbazole are fluorescence spectrometry and acidic pH. Iodination reaction can be used to generate 3-iodo-9H-carbazole from 3-(trimethylsilyl)phenol.
