The compound also inhibits hemolytic activity by binding to the red blood cell membrane and inhibiting the enzyme NADH oxidoreductase. Indole-3-acetic acid hydrazide has been shown to bind to divinylbenzene with a hydrogen bond. The compound is also able to inhibit fatty acid synthesis through its interaction with the fatty acid synthase enzyme. In addition, indole-3-acetic acid hydrazide can be used as an inhibitor of SplA2 in cells.
