Beschreibung

Pseudolaric acid B is a natural compound that belongs to the group of polyketides. It has been shown to induce apoptosis in HL-60 cells by binding to DNA and inducing cell death by nuclear fragmentation. Pseudolaric acid B also induces the release of pro-apoptotic proteins, such as endonuclease G, from the mitochondria into the cytosol. This protein then activates caspase-independent pathways, leading to cell death through body formation. In addition, pseudolaric acid B inhibits some enzyme activities and enhances others, which may lead to changes in signal pathways and the pathogenic mechanism of cancer.
