The compound is a tautomer, with the tautomerism between the enol and keto forms being constant at pH 7.4. The two stereoisomers are anti-cancer drugs that have been shown to be effective for treating bromodomain mediated cancers. 4-Benzyloxy-5-bromo-2-chloropyrimidine can exist as a solvate or as racemic mixture, and it has been shown to exist in polymorphic forms and catalytic activity.
