• Beschreibung: Karminomycin HCl is an analog of carminomycin, which is a cytotoxic antibiotic. It inhibits the growth of tumor cells by inhibiting the production of epidermal growth factor, which is necessary for cell proliferation. Karminomycin HCl has been shown to inhibit the growth of tumors in mice with subcutaneous tumors and has demonstrated potent antitumor activity against sarcoma 180 cancer cells in vitro. This drug also inhibits the accumulation of cytosolic calcium, which may be due to its ability to bind to metal hydroxides. Karminomycin HCl has been shown to inhibit cardiac muscle contractions in rats and can be used as a treatment for congestive heart failure.
