The structural analysis of 4-keto retinol has revealed that it binds to DNA polymerase, inhibiting transcriptional activity. The pharmacokinetic properties of this drug have been studied in rats and mice, but not yet humans. This compound will most likely be administered orally or intravenously with a dosage range from 0.01 mg/kg to 10 mg/kg per day.
