• Beschreibung: FK18 is a basic fibroblastic growth factor that has been shown to promote neuronal survival and is neuroprotective. It also can prevent glutamate-induced neurotoxicity in the central nervous system (CNS) by inhibiting glutamate release from the synaptic cleft, which leads to neuronal death. FK18 has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of prostaglandins and other inflammatory mediators. FK18 has also been shown to reduce necrotic cell death by decreasing mitochondrial membrane potential.
