Beschreibung

Lanolin is a natural substance that has antimicrobial properties. It has been shown to have strong activity against Gram-positive bacteria and fungi, particularly those with cell walls containing polysaccharides. Lanolin is also used as a substrate film in the diagnosis of disease activity, such as rheumatoid arthritis. This substance can inhibit the reaction of eosinophil cationic protein with an acidic pH, which is induced by lanolin. Lanolin also inhibits leukemia inhibitory factor in vitro and redox potentials in vivo.
Lanolin contains p-hydroxybenzoic acid, which reacts with sodium citrate to produce p-aminobenzoic acid. The reaction solution then undergoes transfer reactions with sephadex G-100 and neurotrophic factors to form hydrophilic compounds that are cytotoxic to tumor cells.
