Lithium aluminium hydride is a chemical compound that is used in the pharmaceutical industry to prepare pharmaceutical preparations. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of DPP-IV, which is an enzyme that degrades the incretin hormone glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1). Lithium aluminium hydride has also been shown to have antiviral and antiparasitic properties. It has been shown to be active against various infectious diseases, such as HIV and malaria, by inhibiting viral growth and replication. The antiviral effects of lithium aluminium hydride may be due to its ability to inhibit protein synthesis. This compound has also been shown to stimulate the production of epidermal growth factor (EGF) in human keratinocytes, as well as other growth factors such as β-amino acid.
