Beschreibung

Illudin S is a sesquiterpene lactone that has been shown to have minimal toxicity in animal studies. It is derived from the fungus Omphalotus illudens, which is found in Japan and China. Illudin S has been shown to be an inhibitor of protein synthesis in cancer cells and inhibits the growth of prostate cancer cells. This effect may be due to its ability to inhibit the activity of effector proteins such as PKC, PKG, and MAPKs. The acetate extract of Illudin S also produces similar effects on hamster V79 cells with minimal toxicity.
