L-Leucine amide hydrochloride is a pharmaceutical preparation that belongs to the class of alkynyl esters. It is an amino acid derivative that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines. L-Leucine amide hydrochloride has been shown to inhibit the production of 5-aminolevulinic acid hydrochloride in human and animal cells, which plays a role in the production of heme. This drug also inhibits the production of beta-amyloid peptides by binding to bacterial streptococcus faecalis and inhibiting the enzyme hyaluronidase. L-Leucine amide hydrochloride also binds with high affinity to hyaluronic acid, an important component in connective tissue, and can be used as a marker for inflammation.
