Beschreibung

6-Methoxypyridin-3-ylboronic acid is a potent inhibitor of phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5). This compound has been shown to inhibit the replication of HIV. It also has potent inhibitory activity against tumor cells and inhibits the proliferation of cancer cells. 6-Methoxypyridin-3-ylboronic acid inhibits PDE5 by forming hydrogen bonding interactions with the kinase domain of this enzyme. It also binds to the ATP binding site and blocks ATP hydrolysis, inhibiting cGMP degradation.
