Produktinformation
- Benzoic acid, 4-amino-3-fluoro-, methyl ester
- Methyl 4-amino-3-fluorobenzenecarboxylate
- Methyl-4-amino-3-fluorobenzoate
Methyl 4-amino-3-fluorobenzoate is an intermediate in the synthesis of retinoic acid. It is a chiral molecule that can be synthesized from racemic methyl benzoate and hydroxybenzene. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of microorganisms, such as Aureobasidium and other fungi, by blocking the production of retinoic acid receptor. Methyl 4-amino-3-fluorobenzoate is an enantiomeric compound that can be prepared by reacting with hydroxybenzylamine in methanol. The yield of this reaction depends on the amount of water present in the reaction mixture.
