• Beschreibung: Ergolines are a class of drugs that bind to serotonin receptors. The ergoline derivative [(8b)-1,6-dimethylergolin-8-yl)methyl]carbamic acid phenylmethyl ester (DMPE) is a potent and selective 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) receptor antagonist. DMPE has been shown to have the ability to increase serum prolactin levels in rats and antagonize the effects of metergoline in monkeys. It also reduces blood pressure in animals by blocking the vasoconstrictor effect of 5-HT on vascular smooth muscle cells.
