• Beschreibung: Gomisin A is a natural product derived from the Chinese herb Schisandra chinensis. Gomisin A has shown anti-prostate cancer activity in vitro, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of prostate specific antigen (PSA) and reduce cell proliferation. Gomisin A also inhibits tumor growth in cell lines with prostate carcinoma (Du145). It has been shown that gomisin A binds to biphenyl and acetone molecules, which are found in various foods such as nuts, coffee, and tea. This binding prevents the formation of reactive oxygen species that can lead to tissue damage. Gomisin A also blocks the activity of enzymes that produce reactive oxygen species from arachidonic acid by inhibiting cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) activity.
