Beschreibung

Morelloflavone is a natural compound that belongs to the flavonoid family. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties and significant cytotoxicity against mouse tumor cells in vitro. Morelloflavone has also been shown to inhibit the development of hepatic steatosis by decreasing lipid synthesis in 3T3-L1 preadipocytes. The mechanism of action is believed to be due to the intramolecular hydrogen bond interactions between the hydroxyl groups on morelloflavone and the enzyme's active site, thereby inhibiting its activity. This inhibition prevents the enzyme from catalyzing reactions that would lead to fatty acid synthesis, which is necessary for lipogenesis. Morelloflavone also inhibits bacterial growth by binding to DNA-dependent RNA polymerase, preventing transcription and replication.
