Beschreibung:
7-Methoxybenzofuran is a benzofuran derivative that has been shown to inhibit phosphodiesterase type 4 (PDE4) and PDE5, which are enzymes involved in the breakdown of cyclic nucleotides. 7-Methoxybenzofuran has potent inhibitor effects on these enzymes, especially at high concentrations. It is possible that this compound may be used as a treatment for asthma since it inhibits the production of inflammatory agents from cells. 7-Methoxybenzofuran has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties in animal models. This may be due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis by inhibiting phosphodiesterase activity.
