Produktinformation
- 1-Methyl-4-(3-nitrophenyl)piperazine 97%
- 1-Methyl-4-(3-nitrophenyl)piperazine dihydrochloride
1-Methyl-4-(3-nitrophenyl)piperazine is a quaternary ammonium salt that has been used for the treatment of tuberculosis. It is an alkylating agent that inhibits bacterial growth by binding to DNA and RNA, preventing transcription and replication. Substituents on the nitrogen atom affect the potency of this drug. 1-Methyl-4-(3-nitrophenyl)piperazine binds to guanine in the DNA molecule, which causes cross linking between DNA strands, resulting in cell death. This drug also has anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis.
