Beschreibung

D-serine is an amino acid that is used in the synthesis of proteins. It is a non-essential amino acid and can be synthesized from glycine, but it is also present in animal protein. D-Serine hydrochloride has been shown to be effective in decoloring and removing thionyl chloride from the environment. The compound can be crystallized by cooling or heating and filtration, which may be necessary if the compound contains impurities. D-Serine hydrochloride can be reutilized, recycled, and synthesized. It can also be chlorinated with chlorine gas or chloramine to form d-serine hydrochloride chloride. Chlorination requires refluxing and methyl esterification with methanol to produce methyl 2-amino-3-chloropropanoate hydrochloride (MCPH). MCPH can then react with water to produce d-serine hydrochloride hydrate (DSH).
