Beschreibung:
Methyl 6-cyanopicolinate is a coordination complex that contains the lanthanide metal ion, europium(III). It has been shown to be a luminescent analog of methyl picolinate in which the anion is a cyanide group. The ligand acts as a sensitizer for x-ray and electron diffraction, and as an electron donor for quantum yields. Methyl 6-cyanopicolinate exhibits emission in the visible region of the spectrum and has been used to produce lanthanide complexes that emit in the near infrared region.
