5-Mercapto-1-tetrazoleacetic acid sodium salt is a colloidal gold nanoparticle that has been stabilized with sodium ions. It has been shown to be effective for the treatment of bacterial infections. 5-Mercapto-1-tetrazoleacetic acid sodium salt has been shown to have antibacterial properties, which may be due to its ability to reduce nitrate and nitrite in the body. This product is also water soluble, allowing it to be taken orally. The electron microscopy images show that this compound is composed of nanocrystalline gold particles with diameters of about 20 nm.
