• Beschreibung: 2-Methylphenylhydrazine (2MPH) is a chemical compound that is used as a polymerization initiator. It reacts with the carbonyl group of an amine to produce an oxime, which can then react with another amine molecule to form a new amide bond. 2MPH has shown anti-inflammatory activity in vitro and in vivo. This drug inhibits the production of prostaglandins and leukotrienes by inhibiting cyclooxygenase and 5-lipoxygenase enzymes. 2MPH also possesses antiviral properties, including for influenza virus and other viruses that have envelope glycoproteins on their surface. The antiviral effect may be due to its ability to inhibit the synthesis of viral proteins or interfere with viral replication.
