- 4-Methoxy-N,N-diphenylaniline
4-Methoxytriphenylamine is a fluorescent dye with an absorption maximum at about 350 nm. It is soluble in most organic solvents and can be used as a reagent for the determination of copper ions. 4-Methoxytriphenylamine has been used in optical devices, such as light emitting diodes (LEDs) and lasers, to produce red or blue light. Furthermore, it has been used as a dopant in polyolefins to produce heat-resistant polymers. The compound also has antioxidant properties due to its ability to reduce Cu(II) to Cu(I).
