Beschreibung:Methenolone acetate is a synthetic anabolic-androgenic steroid that acts as a potent androgen and has been marketed as a treatment for inoperable breast cancer. Methenolone acetate can also be used to treat the wasting syndrome in HIV/AIDS patients. This drug binds to the androgen receptor, inhibiting the production of gonadotropin hormones that regulate the synthesis of sex steroids. Methenolone acetate has also been shown to inhibit the growth of herpes simplex virus in cell culture. This drug is detectable in urine samples for up to 8 days after administration. The carboxy terminal of methenolone acetate can be detected by chemical ionization gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS).
