Beschreibung

5-O-Methyl quercetin is a compound that belongs to the group of flavonoids and can be found in plants such as carthamus tinctorius. It has been shown to have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer properties. 5-O-Methyl quercetin inhibits the activity of enzymes involved in lipid and carbohydrate metabolism, including fatty acid synthase and acetyl coenzyme A carboxylase. The mechanism of action is not yet fully understood but it may involve an interaction with the hydroxyl group or protocatechuic acid. This compound also has been shown to have physiological effects on cells by inhibiting the growth of tumors and cancer cells.
