Beschreibung

3-Methylflavone-8-carboxylic acid is a flavonoid that has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria in vitro. The structural analysis of 3-methylflavone-8-carboxylic acid and its derivatives was carried out using methyl ethyl (ME) and NMR spectroscopy. It has also been shown that 3-methylflavone-8-carboxylic acid can inhibit luciferase activity, which is an indicator for the synthesis of RNA. This compound is a competitive inhibitor, preventing the binding of ATP or GTP to luciferase, thereby inhibiting transcriptional regulation. 3-Methylflavone-8-carboxylic acid has also been shown to have antimicrobial effects against Gram positive bacteria and fungi.
