Beschreibung:
2-Methylpropanethioamide is a sulfonamide that is used in industrial and commercial processes for the epoxidation of organic compounds. It has been shown to be an effective antifungal agent, with activity against Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger. 2-Methylpropanethioamide can also be used as a water vapor scavenger in some industrial processes. The drug binds to metal ions such as tetraethylammonium and chloroprene, forming colloids that precipitate out of solution. 2-Methylpropanethioamide is metabolized by hydrolysis to form methylamine and propanoic acid, which are excreted in urine.
