• Beschreibung: Metoprine is a medication that is used to treat bowel diseases, including inflammatory bowel disease. Metoprine may be used in combination with other medications for the treatment of infectious diseases. It increases the production of thymidylate, which is an essential nucleotide for DNA synthesis and repair. This drug also has anti-cancer properties that have been demonstrated in animal models. Metoprine inhibits the growth of cancer cells by binding to epidermal growth factor receptor and blocking cellular proliferation. Metoprine has been shown to increase the glomerular filtration rate in rats as well as increase locomotor activity in mice.
