• Beschreibung: Ponazuril is a veterinary drug that belongs to the group of chemotherapeutics. It is used in the treatment of endoparasites, such as nematodes and cestodes, which are parasites that live inside the human body. Ponazuril is administered orally or by injection and has been shown to have minimal toxicity in CD-1 mice. Ponazuril binds to DNA polymerase, inhibiting RNA synthesis and protein synthesis. This leads to cell death by apoptosis and necrosis. The drug also inhibits DNA replication in the parasite and blocks parasite growth.
