• Beschreibung: Methyl 2-hydroxy-2-methoxyacetate is a trifluoroacetic acid derivative that inhibits the activity of effector proteins, such as proteases and lipases. It has been shown to be an effective inhibitor of polymyxin B. Methyl 2-hydroxy-2-methoxyacetate also inhibits the growth of human pathogens in vitro. This compound binds to the target enzymes and blocks their catalytic sites, preventing them from carrying out their biological functions. Methyl 2-hydroxy-2-methoxyacetate has been shown to be active against a wide range of human pathogens, including Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria, fungi, and parasites. The compound also has antimicrobial properties against a number of human pathogens. Methyl 2-hydroxy-2-methoxyacetate is not toxic for eukaryotic cells or for prokaryotes with a wild type genetic code but it can cause cell death
