L-Methioninamide hydrochloride has been shown to have neuroprotective effects in cell cultures, as well as neurotrophin-like activity. The enzyme activity of L-methioninamide hydrochloride has been found to be optimal at a neutral pH (6). This compound is sensitive to acid environments and alcohol residue, which are common in stomachs.
