It has been shown to be an effective antiinflammatory agent in animal models. The mechanism of action of this drug is not known; however, it may work by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins. N-Methylhydroxylamine HCl may also inhibit iron binding and have a thermodynamic data on its solubility. This chemical has been synthesized through two methods: reaction with methyl hydrazine or reaction with methyl hydroxylamine hydrochloride. It is insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents and can be analyzed using gas chromatography.
