- 3-(Methoxycarbonyl)isoquinoline
- 3-Isoquinolinecarboxylic acid, methyl ester
- Isoquinoline-3-carboxylic acid methyl ester
Methyl 3-isoquinolinecarboxylate is an organic chemical compound that is used as a building block in the synthesis of imidazopyridines and benzodiazepines. It has been shown to have affinity for benzodiazepine receptors, and can be used in binding studies to determine the binding constants of ligands that are similar in structure. Methyl 3-isoquinolinecarboxylate can be synthesized by alkylation of 3-iodoquinolinecarboxylic acid with methyl iodide in the presence of an acid catalyst.
