1-Methyl-4-(methylamino)piperidine is a nitrogenous organic chemical that is used to study the effects of nitrogen levels on cancer. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of murine leukemia cells in vivo and in vitro. The molecular structure of 1-methyl-4-(methylamino)piperidine contains two nitrogens and two chlorines, which are linked by a monoadduct. The magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) studies show that it can inhibit the production of urea nitrogen in mice. This drug is being developed for use as a PDE5 inhibitor for the treatment of erectile dysfunction.
