Beschreibung

Methyl 12-hydroxystearate (M12HS) is a polycarboxylic acid that is synthesized from the reaction of hydroxyl group, phosphotungstic acid, and nepeta cataria. It has been shown to have significant magnetic resonance spectroscopy signals in vivo and in vitro assays. M12HS has also been demonstrated to be a particle and polymerization agent, which can be used to create polyvinyl or caproic acid with allyl carbonate as an intermediate. Methyl 12-hydroxystearate is a fatty ester that has cathartic activity. It also contains a long hydrocarbon chain with a carboxylic acid at one end that can undergo oxidation and reduction reactions. Methyl 12-hydroxystearate is an active ingredient in the prescription drug Amitiza for irritable bowel syndrome with constipation.
