Beschreibung

Maesaquinone is an organic compound that belongs to the class of flavonoid derivatives. This substance has been shown to have a strong inhibitory effect on the efflux pump in the cell membrane, which prevents the accumulation of toxins and other harmful substances in cells. The 2-D NMR analysis revealed that maesaquinone is composed of two hydroxyl groups and four oxygen atoms. The population growth test showed that maesaquinone inhibits yeast growth at a concentration of 1 mM and below. Furthermore, this substance has been reported as a natural compound that can be found in plants such as geraniums or parsley. It is also known for its anti-inflammatory properties, which are due to its inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis.
