Beschreibung

Methyl Difluoroacetate is a colorless liquid that has a boiling point of -35.2°C and a density of 1.09. It is soluble in water, methanol, ethanol, ether, acetone, and dichloromethane. Methyl Difluoroacetate can be synthesized by reacting Sodium Carbonate with Fluoroacetic Acid. The conformational properties of this substance have been determined using nmr spectra on anhydrous sodium chloride and lithium hydroxide solids. In the presence of an electric field, the compound is oxidized to form difluoroacetate and an electrochemical impedance spectroscopy shows the presence of a carbonyl group in this substance. Kinetic data has been obtained for this compound at 25°C in 0.1M HClO4 solution with respect to time and voltage (V) using an electrode as the working electrode and electrolyte as the reference electrode.
