• Beschreibung: N-Methyl-N-nitrosourethane is a chemical that has been shown to have cancer chemopreventive activity against alveolar type II cells and tumors. It binds to the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGF-R) and inhibits the production of proteins that regulate cell division, leading to apoptosis. N-Methyl-N-nitrosourethane can also inhibit the proliferation of cultured human cancer cells by binding to nuclear DNA and methylating it. N-Methyl-N-nitrosourethane has been shown to be more effective in platinum based chemotherapy when used with metal hydroxides such as zinc sulfide. The chemical stability of this drug is high and it does not deteriorate rapidly in either biological or environmental systems.
