• Beschreibung: 3-Methoxy-2-nitrobenzoic acid is a cytotoxic agent that has low activity against sarcoma cells. This drug blocks topoisomerase, preventing the separation of DNA strands and causing death to the sarcoma cells. 3-Methoxy-2-nitrobenzoic acid also has nonhematologic toxicities, such as tissue damage and high levels of methemoglobin in the blood. It is operable for children and adults, but not for pregnant women. The drug is administered in combination with dacarbazine or as a single agent in pediatric populations at doses lower than those used in adults. 3-Methoxy-2-nitrobenzoic acid may be used to treat cancers such as leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease, Wilms' tumor, neuroblastoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, or retinoblastoma.
