Beschreibung:Methyl 2,4-dihydroxybenzoate is a synthetic locomotor activator that also possesses anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. This compound binds to the extracellular site of pancreatic lipase and inhibits its activity by potent inhibition. It has optical properties and can be used in the synthesis of ethyl esters. Methyl 2,4-dihydroxybenzoate has been shown to have mesomorphic properties, which are exhibited when it is heated to a temperature below its melting point. Analysis of this compound has shown that it contains a hydrogen bond with an oxygen molecule. Methyl 2,4-dihydroxybenzoate showed potent inhibition against chemical analyses with a 50% inhibitory concentration (IC) of 1 µM.
