• Beschreibung: 3-Methoxybenzoyl chloride is an amide that has been shown to be a potent and selective inhibitor of bacterial growth. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli. The antibiotic inhibits the synthesis of proteins by binding to ribosomes. 3-Methoxybenzoyl chloride also inhibits protein synthesis in human erythrocytes. This drug has been used in clinical trials for the treatment of infections caused by MRSA as well as other bacteria.
