Beschreibung

N-Methyl-1-[3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-4,5-dihydropyrazol-3-amine (MTPA) is a prodrug that is hydrolyzed in vivo to its active form, 3-[(2,6-dimethoxyphenyl)amino]-N-methylmorpholinium chloride. The drug has been used as an antiinflammatory agent for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease and alopecia areata. It has also been shown to be effective in the treatment of uv radiation induced skin damage. MTPA inhibits the lipoxygenase enzyme, which produces arachidonic acid from linoleic acid. This compound is also an inhibitor of cyclooxygenase enzymes, which produce prostaglandins from arachidonic acid. MTPA inhibits phospholipase A2 enzymes by binding to the active site of these enzymes and preventing the release of arachid
