Nepetoidin B is a caffeic acid derivative that belongs to the class of natural products. It has been shown to have potent anticoagulant effects in vitro and in vivo, as well as anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, and antioxidative properties. Nepetoidin B also has an inhibitory effect on the growth of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and has been shown to be effective in treating cancer in animals. This agent also demonstrates inhibition of tumor invasion by controlling the expression of matrix metalloproteinases. Nepetoidin B is metabolized through demethylation into nepetalactone.
