Beschreibung

Nervonic acid is a polyunsaturated fatty acid that is found in the myelin sheath of nerves. Nervonic acid has been shown to have a synergistic effect with other drugs, such as amiodarone, to increase the efficacy of these drugs against cardiotoxicity. The analytical method for nervonic acid and its derivatives has been developed and used for the detection of this compound. Nervonic acid has also been identified as a potential biomarker for oxidative injury and experimental models have been developed for studying its effects on cardiac function. This compound can exist in two different phases, one liquid and the other solid, based on its temperature.
