Naphthalen-2-yl-acetylchloride is a new drug which has been found to be up to 10 times more potent than other drugs for the treatment of cancer. It is a pyridine derivative that binds to DNA, blocks transcription, and induces cell death. Naphthalene-2-yl-acetylchloride has been shown to have significant efficacy against lung cancer cells and human cancers in general. It also inhibits the growth of glioblastoma cells, which may be due to its ability to block homophthalic bonds. This compound is currently being used as a medicinal reagent for the treatment of cancer.
