• Beschreibung: Binaltorphimine is a drug that binds to δ opioid receptors and blocks pain signals from the brain. It has been shown to have efficacy in the treatment of bowel disease, anorexia and weight loss, and chronic pain associated with osteoarthritis. Binaltorphimine has also been shown to be effective in the treatment of patients with anterior cingulate cortex injury. There is evidence that binaltorphimine can reduce the release of inflammatory mediators by blocking their synthesis at sites of injury. This drug also inhibits the binding of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) to cyclooxygenase (COX).
