Produktinformation
- D-3-Nitrophenylalanine
- (2R)-2-ammonio-3-(3-nitrophenyl)propanoate
3-Nitro-D-phenylalanine is an organic compound that has been used as a catalyst in optical analysis of amino acids. It has been shown to have stereoselective and nonselective properties, which are due to its catalytic mechanism. 3-Nitro-D-phenylalanine can be synthesized from phenylalanine ammonia-lyase and ammonia, with the aid of a mutant enzyme. The active site of this enzyme contains a catalytic residue, which binds to the phenyl ring of 3-nitro-D-phenylalanine, altering the optical properties of the molecule. This reaction solution is then analyzed by optical techniques such as UV spectroscopy or circular dichroism spectroscopy.
